Day 01 / Reach Kathmandu after your international flight.
On arrival in Kathmandu received by pristinenepal.com staff and guide for short drive to your hotel in the hub of Kathmandu city, where you will join with other members of Gokyo Lake & Everest Panorama trekking, our guide or group leader will brief with information regarding trekking -hotels-culture with do’s and don’ts, includes welcome dinner in a nice and typical Nepali restaurant with culture programs.
Day 02 / Fly to Lukla 2,840 m & trek to Phakding 2,610m - 04 hrs
Morning transfer to domestic airport for a sweeping scenic flight of 30 minutes to Lukla, Lukla airport or Tenzing –Hillary Airport. This is one of the world’s most unique airstrips with ups and downs short runway, after a time for refreshment in Lukla, where your bigger baggage will be carried by our porters or loaded on Ghopkyo (mix breed of normal cow and yaks). From Lukla our first day walk begins on gradual path with much downhill and short climb passing traditional Sherpa farm villages with views of snowcapped peaks.
After a pleasant walk reaching overnight stop at Phakding located by the glacier fed Dudh Kosi (river)
Day 03 / Trek to Namche Bazaar 3,440 m - 06 hrs.
After a pleasant overnight with the sound of the river, morning walk leads following Dudh Kosi, crossing few bridges to reach at Sagarmatha National Park in Monjo village. From walk leads to last village of Jorsalle before Namche Bazaar walking on river bed and forested area.
After crossing the last high bridge few hours climb with marvelous views of peaks with Everest then reaching famous Namche Bazaar, here with two nights in this large prosperous trading town / village as well the main centre of Khumbu with facilities of ATMs, Cyber cafes, stores, shops, restaurants, banks and fresh bakery with a busy colorful Saturday market.
Day 04 / Rest day at Namche Bazaar for acclimatization.
Namche a perfect spot for rest and acclimatization day, this morning a leisure short hike up to park museum with full information from mountaineering, flora / fauna of the area with Sherpa culture and Buddhist religions, this scenic spot offers grand views of mountains Mt. Everest and stunning Ama Dablam.
For energetic and interested can take few hours hike uphill to Everest View Hotel for best views of Mt. Everest and other mountains.
Day 05 / Trek to Khunde 3,880 m / Khumjung 3,780 m - 04 hrs.
After a pleasant break with rest day at Namche, morning a short steep climb above Namche to reach at Syangboche with an old short airstrip, offering fabulous views of the high surrounding mountains.From here a gradual uphill walk following trail to Khunde and Khumjung, the largest Sherpa villages around Khumbu area, beneath holy peak of Khumbi-la (patron god of Khumbu)
at 5,761 m.
At Khunde village visit one and only Khunde hospital built by Edmund Hillary Foundation, from here a pleasant short walk downhill to Khumjung for overnight stop. Afternoon tour of Khumjung old Monastery, the only place with a hairy scalp believed to be of Yeti kept in glass box. Where you can witness with some donations, around Khumjung has a High School also built by Edmund Hillary Foundation.
Day 06 / Trek to Dole 4,110 m - 05 hrs.
After a nice stop on the glacial valley at Khumjung with eye catching views, morning walk leads downhill to join the main trail at near Shanasa village. From this spot our route diverts away from the main Namche-Everest base camp trail towards quiet areas towards Gokyo Lake.
The path climbs with steep climb to reach a Mong 3,973 meters with amazing views and then downhill walk to Dudh Kosi River at Phortse Thanghka for lunch.
After Phortse, continue walk to Dole as the trail climbs steeply out of the valley through a patch of rhododendron forest which gives way to juniper and conifers trees. In the spring time this place will be magic with wild flowers in full bloom. This path passes summer Yak pastures.
The trek leads past Tongba and Gyele villages to reach at Dole with super view of Khumbila and Tawache 6,542m.
Day 07 / Trek to Macherma 4,470 m -04 hrs.
Morning walk from Dole climbs along the side of the valley, where rhododendron forest stops, giving way to smaller bushes of juniper as you gain altitude slowly. Finally walk leads on level path for an hour to Lhabarma Kharka and to Luza at 4,390m; and then skirting around a ridge with downhill to Macherma village. Arriving at Macherma for lunch and overnight stop with time in the afternoon for short walk or just relax.
Day 08 / Trek to Gokyo 4,790m -04 hrs.
From this small settlement our walks continues to Gokyo 3rd Lake, following a scenic path to Pangka small area and then descend slightly, following one of the glacial fed rivers which flows from Ngozumba Glacier of high world 6th highest Cho-Oyu and other adjoining peaks.
Walk leads to a climb by the side of a glacier, passing first lake and the second lake, crossing the path to reach at third lake known as Dudh Pokhari or Gokyo Lake a summer settlement with fantastic views of Mt. Cho Oyo and Gyachung Kang that reflects on emerald green waters of Gokyo Lake.
Day 09 / Morning hike to Gokyo-Ri and walk to Na or beyond - 04 hrs.
Morning hike uphill to Gokyo Ri one of the highlight of this trip, a small peak above the lake, Gokyo Ri at 5,357m offers panorama of Mt. Cho Oyo, Gyachung Kang, Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Cholatse, Taweche and far as to Mt. Makalu. After a wonderful stop at Gokyo Ri, head downhill to Gokyo for lunch and rest, afternoon short walk of few hours to Na, a small place located at the foot of Ngozumba glacier with time head further for another hour for overnight stop.
Day 10 / Trek to Phortse village 3, 810 m - 04 hrs.
Starting from this isolated area beneath towering Cholatse peak on the least trekked trail to Phortse village, morning walks leads downhill for short 3-4 hours, to reach another sleepy village at Pangboche for lunch and overnight stop. Afternoon explore this nice small Sherpa village, where trekkers hardly use this route.
Day 11 / Trek to Thyangboche 3,867 m - 05 hrs.
Leaving Phortse village with super views of Ama Dablam, on the gradual up and winding path to reach at upper Pangboche near its old Gompa (monastery). After a rest and lunch break head downhill losing altitude and back into tree lines, as the walk leads over a short steel bridge over Imjatse River. From the bridge an hour or more climb brings you at famous and scenic Tyangboche Monastery, located on a small plateau with marvelous scenery of mountains including Mt. Everest and majestic Ama-Dablam surrounded by beautiful alpine forest of rhododendron-pines-oaks and birch trees. Here with time to visit this interesting monastery which was badly damaged by fire in 1991 and rebuilt back into original shape.
Day 12 / Trek to Monjo 2,880 m through Namche Bazaar - 06hrs.
Morning walk a long descend to Imjatse River at Phunge tenga, after crossing a bridge with short steep uphill and then with gentle walk all the way to Namche Bazaar, from Namche continue walk downhill to Dudh Kosi River, from here with short ups and downs to reach at Sagarmatha National Park to Monjo village for overnight stop in this nice village.
Day 13 / Trek to Lukla - 04 hrs.
After an exciting and fabulous trek to Gokyo Lake & Everest Panorama last day walk of this adventure leads on same trail with last climb to Lukla for lunch and overnight stop, afternoon free with last night dinner celebration with fellow staff-guides and members.
Day 14 / Fly to Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.
From Lukla an early morning flight to Kathmandu, sometime the flight time can delay due to bad weather conditions, as per your flight time board in a small plane for super, scenic flight back to Kathmandu, on reaching at Katmandu domestic terminal. Pristine Nepal guide and staff transfers you back to your hotels with afternoon free for individual activities.
Day 15 / In Kathmandu for sightseeing tour at places of interest.
Pristine Nepal reserves this day in case of flight delay and cancellation in Lukla, due to unfavorable weather conditions, if all runs well according to our itinerary days join for sightseeing tour as Kathmandu is full of world heritage sites of historical monuments-enjoy the tour of Kathmandu old Durbar square, Swayambhunath the landmark of Kathmandu or visit Bouddhanath “Little Tibet”.
Day 16 / International departure for home ward bound.
Last day in amazing Nepal country of Himalayan wonders, as per your international flight time depart from the hotel where Pristine Nepal staff transfer you to airport, after a great enjoyable and memorable time on Gokyo Lake & Everest Panorama Trekking with quality services and guidance of Pristine Nepal.
