Day 01 / Reach Kathmandu after your international flight.
On arrival in Kathmandu received by Pristine Nepal staff and guide for short drive to your hotel in the hub of Kathmandu city, where you will join with other members on Makalu Base Camp trekking, our guide or group leader will brief with information regarding trekking –hotels-culture with do’s and don’ts, includes welcome dinner in a nice and typical Nepali restaurant with culture programs.
Day 02 / In Kathmandu for sightseeing tour at places of interest.
Pristine Nepal includes sightseeing tour, Kathmandu is full of world heritage sites of historical monuments-enjoy the tour of Kathmandu old Durbar square, Swayambhunath the landmark of Kathmandu or visit Bouddhanath “Little Tibet”. Afternoon preparation for Makalu base camp trek.
Day 03 / Fly to Tumlingtar 950 m - 45 minutes and camp.
Morning transfer to Kathmandu domestic airport for 40 minutes flight to Tumlingtar with views of Ganesh, Langtang Himal, Jugal Himal including Mt. Everest, Makalu & Mt. Kanchenjunga, on arrival at Tumlingtar received by our guide and trekking staff, then short walk to Tumlingtar town for overnight stop, a moderate size town located above Arun River of sub-tropical temperature with view of Mt. Makalu.
Day 04 / Drive to Num 1, 500m - 04 hrs.
From Tumlingtar our adventure begins with an interesting ride on a jeep to Num village on the mid hills of high eastern Himalaya, drive leads through farm lands and villages reaching at Khadbari, a large town and headquarter of Sankha Saba district and Makalu area, drive continues on rough dirt mud road with uphill climb to reach Num village. Num a lovely mountain village offering grand views of surrounding landscapes and of Jaljala rocky peaks, overnight in the local simple lodge with an afternoon free to explore the village.
Day 05 / Trek to Seduwa 1,493 m- 04 hrs.
The morning starts with long downhill towards fast flowing Arun River after crossing a short bridge walk leads to a steep climb past scattered farm villages of Runruma, with short breaks in between a gentle climb to Sedua village for an overnight stop in the local lodge or in tents near the primary school yard.
Day 06 / Trek to Tashi- gaon 2,200 m - 04 hours.
After a steep climb on first day, this morning walk leads on gentle path till afternoon with lunch and overnight stop at Tashigaon, walking on winding path through farm fields and terraces till Tashi gaon is reached after a good walk of 3-4 hours, a small farm Sherpa village and as well last human settlement for a week. Afternoon explores this interesting Sherpa village of Tashi-Gaon.
Day 07 / Trek to Khoma Danda 3,500 m - 05 hours.
From Tashi Gaon morning walk leads through thick enchanting forest of rhododendron, pines, oaks and birch tree lines, passing few scattered cattle herders camps with huts and shades on the grazing pasture fields, after a gradual winding for an hour, starting with a steep climb into the forest all the way to the top of Khoma danda ridge, this is taken as a small pass also, overnight on the top where there are few overhanging rocks forming a cave and shelter for porters and local cattle herders, this camp offers awesome views of Kanchenjunga towards far east and Mt. Makalu towards North.
Day 08 / Trek to Mumbuk 3,400 m - 06 hours.
Morning catching the views of mountain panorama, the walk continues on the open area passing a glacial pond called Thulo Pokhari and Sano Pokhari, and then crossing a ridge of Tutu-la pass at 4,075 meters and then on the downhill back to tree lines to Mumbuk in the middle of the heavily forested area for overnight camp.
Day 09 / Trek to Nehe Kharka 3,750 m - 06 hours.
From this forest camp at Mumbuk, morning walk starts with a descend to Barun Valley this is one of the most beautiful Valley of the Himalaya region and unspoiled area, as few trekkers pass this route, Barun valley is famous for rare wildlife, herbs and rare species of plants and vegetation, from Barun area walk leads to a slow climb towards North West to camp at Nehe Kharka, a wide field with grazing area.
Day 10 / Trek to Sherson 4,600 m - 06 hours.
After feeling fresh in this tranquil wilderness of Barun Valley surrounded with high mountains and rock cliffs, today walk leads to our destination to camp at Sherson a mere distance from Makalu base camp, starting the morning trek following the Barun river upstream through patch of short prickly bushes of Burberry, juniper and dwarf rhododendron with strong aroma of this plants, walk carries with awesome scenery till the walk reaches at Sherson for overnight camp, with stunning views of Mt. Makalu, Baruntse and of unnamed Peak 04.
Day 11 / At Sherson rest day for a day hikes.
After days of continue walks ups and downhill, a free rest day for optional hike to Makalu base camp at 5,060 m the highest point of our adventure, one can hike upper hills for best views of Mt. Everest are east face known as “Khangsung East Face” including peak of Lhotse the
4th world highest, after a nice day walk, return back to camp at Sherson.
Day 12 / Trek to Yangre Kharka 3,645 m - 06 hours.
From Sherson after completing journey towards Makalu base camp, morning return walk downhill to Yangre Kharka for overnight camp, the last camp within Barun Valley.
Day 13 / Trek to Mumbuk - 05 hours.
The morning starts with uphill through the forest and then leaving Barun valley behind to reach back at Mumbak and to tree lines with views of Khumbukarna Himal.
Day 14 / Trek to Khoma Ridge - 05 hours.
After Mumbuk walk leads to a climb through the forest reaching back at Shipton -la 4,040 meters, Tutu-la pass after crossing the twin passes reaching Thulo and Sano Pokhari, and then back to Kohma danda for overnight camp, the last camp in the complete wilderness.
Day 15 / Trek to Nawa Gaon 2,500 m via Tashi Gaon - 06 hours.
From Kohma trek back to Tashigaon through forest and downhill, after reaching Tashigaon, our route diverts to another large Sherpa village of Nawa-Gaon, walk is on the winding gentle path through cool woodland, then reaching Nawa-Gaon village, this is a large spread out Sherpa village, perched above Sedua village.
Day 16 / Trek to Num via Seduwa - 06 hours.
The morning starts with the last walk of this awesome adventure which leads to a long steep descends back to raging Arun River, after crossing the bridge a steep climb back to Num village for the last camp in the higher hills of Makalu and Arun Valley area.
Day 17 / Drive back to Tumlingtar - 04 hours.
After a memorable and grand time high up in the mountains around the complete wilderness, from Num back with an overland drive to Tumlingtar after an interesting four hours ride at Tumlingtar, afternoon free for rest and short walks.
Day 18 / Fly to Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.
As per flight time to Kathmandu, fly to Kathmandu with a grand vista of mountains during flight, on arrival in Kathmandu airport transfer to respective hotels after an amazing adventure in the high mountains of Makalu and Base Camp.
Day 19 / International departure for home ward bound.
Last day in amazing Nepal country of Himalayan wonders, as per your international flight time depart from the hotel where Pristine Nepal staff transfer you to the airport, after a greatly enjoyable and memorable time around Makalu Base Camp Trekking with grand services and guidance of Pristine Nepal.
